Support campus dining and catering services with hands-on kitchen and café duties in a dynamic, customer-focused environment.
Mō te tūka | The role
Join our Food, Beverage & Conferencing team and play a key role in delivering high-quality food service across campus. From customer service and barista duties to kitchen support and event catering, this role offers variety and the chance to contribute to a vibrant university community.
Some tasks of the role include:
- Providing excellent customer service in cafés and food service areas
- Performing barista duties and assisting with bar service
- Maintaining cleanliness in kitchen and dishwashing areas
- Setting up and packing down service stations
- Following food safety procedures and taking corrective actions
- Supporting catering for university events and functions
Fixed term role starting ASAP, ending July 2026 covering parental leave, paying $27.80/hr. Hours of work are Monday - Friday, 6:30am - 3:00pm, 40 hours per week (1.0 FTE).
Kā tino Pūkeka/Whēako | Essential skills/experience for the role
You will have:
- At least one year of hospitality experience
- Café/barista training (advantageous)
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Ability to prioritise tasks and work to high standards
- A proactive, problem-solving mindset
- Honesty, integrity, and a commitment to teamwork
- Alignment with Manaakitaka and Lincoln University values.
