The Student Affairs, Equity, and Belonging Department at St.
Catherine University invites applications for a full-time
Campus Life Operations Manager position.
The Campus Life Operations Manager is serves as a key member of the
Campus Life Team and is responsible for the oversight of the
university Information and Campus Life desks, including recruiting,
training, scheduling and supervision of student workers. The
Operations Manager also manages day-to-day operations of these
critical university services, ranging from supporting students to
directing community members to campus. The Operations Manager
contributes student communications including updating websites,
preparing newsletters, and event logistics.
Duties will include:
- Manage the student employment program for the Information
Center and Campus Life Desk, supervising approximately 35-50
student employees and 2-4 Lead Student Workers.
Coordinate the full student employment cycle each semester for
desk workers, including recruitment, interviewing, hiring,
onboarding, training, scheduling, performance management,
evaluation, recognition, and offboarding.
Develop and maintain staffing plans that provide appropriate
coverage for two customer service desks, while responsibly managing
student employment resources.
Develop student employee position descriptions, expectations,
training materials, operating procedures, evaluation tools, meeting
cadence, and accountability systems.
Clearly define the Lead Student Worker role as a student
leadership position with responsibility for supporting peers and
daily desk operations, defining roles each semester to meet
operational needs while creating a meaningful experience with
increasing responsibilities.
Promote inclusive, accessible, professional, and
student-centered customer service practices.
Manage the daily operations of the Information Center, Campus
Life Desk, and Student Organization Center in collaboration with
Campus Life leadership.
Ensure both service desks are appropriately staffed, organized,
supplied, and prepared to provide consistent service to students,
employees, and visitors.
Develop, document, maintain, and regularly review operating
procedures for services provided through the desks.
Oversee operational processes including:
- Metro Transit pass distribution and tracking
- Locker rentals and annual locker cleanout
- Lost and found
- Equipment and resource checkout
- General campus information and referrals
- Student organization resources and checkouts
- Campus Life forms, materials, and student resources
Maintain accurate logs, records, inventory systems, and
operational documentation, monitoring volume, usage and type of
service to inform staffing, desk hours, resource allocation, and
operational improvements.
Coordinate office supplies, equipment, materials, purchasing,
and inventory for Campus Life operations.
Troubleshoot day-to-day operational issues and determine when
concerns should be elevated to Campus Life leadership.
Provide administrative support to functions related to
Orientation and Honors and Awards programming.
Update and maintain Campus Life and Residence Life websites,
online resources, forms, shared files, and other administrative
systems.
Oversee the creation of the weekly student engagement
newsletter
Participate in departmental meetings, planning, assessment, and
continuous improvement efforts and committee meetings as
appropriate.
Assist with large Student Affairs and campus events with
day/night-of logistics support.
Maintain effective relationships with campus and community
partners.
Foster positive and professional relationships with
students.
Perform other duties consistent with the operational and
administrative responsibilities of the position
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in supervising employees
- Experience scheduling to cover business operations
- Exceptional organizational, communication, and interpersonal
skills.
- Commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion in higher
education.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and/or
student engagement platforms
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in higher education
- Experience in website design
- Experience training employees

Compensation:
Annual wage is
$41,154 - $51,770depending on qualifications and
experience.
The salary range listed reflects a good-faith estimate of what
we reasonably anticipate to pay for this position, based on market
data and internal equity, at the time of posting. Actual
compensation will be determined based on qualifications,
experience, skills, and other relevant factors. St. Catherine
reserves the right to modify or adjust compensation depending on
University needs.
