Monitor security, life safety, surveillance, alarm, and access control systems; dispatch appropriate emergency and public safety resources; and coordinate communications with campus departments and external public safety agencies.

Provide professional customer service by assisting students, employees, visitors, and vendors, answering questions, resolving concerns, and supporting College operations.

Enforce College policies and applicable laws by addressing safety and security concerns, investigating incidents, documenting findings, and preparing accurate reports.

Inspect and monitor security equipment and facilities, identify hazards or maintenance concerns, and report or coordinate corrective actions to help ensure the safety and security of the campus.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• One year or more of work experience.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to write effective and concise reports.
• Demonstrated ability to be customer service oriented, with the ability to interact with all levels of individuals within the organization and general public in a courteous and professional manner.
• Demonstrated ability to take initiative, successfully handle and prioritize multiple competing assignments, and effectively manage deadlines.
• Professional, articulate, and able to use good independent judgment and discretion.
• The ability to attain and maintain the same level of training as required for a Campus Safety Officer.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and make decisions in difficult and crisis type situations

Preferred Qualifications

• First Aid certification, including CPR and defibrillation training
