Campus Services Coordinator

Job Description

Champlain College seeks a highly motivated individual who loves operations, data crunching and spreadsheets as well as getting out and about doing "good work" on our beautiful campus. The Campus Services Coordinator is responsible for supporting the daily operations of Campus Services, ensuring a pleasant and functional environment for students and staff.

The Coordinator will support the assistant director of campus operations, ensuring waste gets to the appropriate places, assist in compliance with reporting requirements, help other folks in the Campus Services team and liaise with vendors and other community members. Your days will be varied and eventful, with no day being boring or the same in this high-paced environment we call Champlain.

Key Responsibilities

Operations & Waste Management

  • Support the campus-wide waste management program, serving as point of contact with Casella and other service providers
  • Assist with specialized recycling initiatives including Move Out Collection program, marker recycling, and plastic bag recycling
  • Conduct weekly waste system oversight and respond to emerging campus waste needs
  • Track furniture inventory, maintenance needs, and advise on future replacement scheduling

Data Management & Compliance

  • Collect, compile, and analyze operational data points across multiple systems for institutional reporting and compliance requirements
  • Document detailed metrics for Buildings & Grounds, Purchase & Renovation History, Historic Preservation, Geothermal systems, Environmental Certification, Leased Space, Building Accessibility, Energy Use, and Shuttle Use & Parking
  • Prepare comprehensive data sets for internal stakeholders and reporting platforms like Fact Book and Gordian
  • Create visualizations and summary reports to communicate operational trends and performance indicators

Operational Support for Broader Campus Services Team

  • Provide backup coverage for essential campus services including Mail Center and Transportation during staff absences
  • Assist with revenue tracking and collection for campus services operations
  • Support campus events and special projects requiring logistical coordination
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless campus operations

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent combination of education and experience considered
  • 1-2 years of experience in campus operations, facilities management, or related field
  • Demonstrated experience with data reporting and database management
  • Valid driver's license required (subject to Motor Vehicle Record check)
  • Exceptional organizational skills with strong attention to detail
  • Excellent communication abilities and proven problem-solving aptitude
  • Analytical mindset with ability to translate data into actionable insights
  • Experience working with vendors and maintaining service relationships
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel

Working Arrangement

  • Full-time (37.5 hours/week), on-campus position at our main campus in Burlington, VT
  • Standard business hours Monday through Friday, with occasional evening or weekend hours for special events
  • Position requires regular movement throughout campus buildings and grounds
  • Physical requirements include ability to lift up to 25 pounds and work in various weather conditions
  • This role combines office work with active campus involvement, offering a balanced and engaging work environment

Compensation & Benefits

  • Hourly wage: $20.00 - $22.00
