Position Profile: The Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry at The University of Western Ontario invites applications for a Tier 1 Canada Research Chair (CRC) in Mass Spectrometry ‘Omics for Novel Therapeutics. The successful candidate will be appointed to a full-time tenured joint appointment at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor in the Department of Biochemistry, in the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry, and jointly in the Department of Chemistry in the Faculty of Science.
Mass Spectrometry ‘Omics (including Metabolomics, proteomics, lipidomics or any related area) can be used to study both healthy populations as well as many different acute and chronic diseases and the goal of this position is to build capacity and leadership in this critical research area.
Qualifications: The successful candidate will hold a PhD or equivalent with advanced training in biochemistry, chemistry, biochemical engineering or another closely related area and a demonstrated ability to both collaborate and to drive their own independent research. The successful candidate must be an outstanding and innovative world-class researcher who is recognized internationally as a leader in their field.
