Career Advisor (Assistant Manager) for NUS Centre for Future-Ready Graduates

About Centre for Future-Ready Graduates:

NUS Centre for Future-ready Graduates (CFG) adopts a multipronged, student-centric approach to help them make sense of their strengths, refine their skills and show their value to employers. Beginning with the end in mind, CFG has developed a four-year roadmap to help enhance the employability of our graduates through a repertoire of skills programmes and industry focused experiential opportunities. This bolsters students’ assurance to grow deeper, discover their passion and explore multiple pathways.

Serving the entire spectrum of students from undergraduates to post-graduates, CFG offers more than 15 unit-bearing courses in collaboration with academic and industry partners. We continuously innovate and enhance the quality of our offerings, as our students deserve the best tools, preparedness, and mindset to not just launch a good career, but be equipped with life skills that can help them navigate a future that is unpredictable.

About the Career Advisor Role:

This is a challenging, purposeful, and rewarding role for one to join the College of Design and Engineering (CDE) team, on a full-time basis. We’re seeking a passionate, collaborative individual who thrives on journeying with students; someone who believes in being of service to others, and takes the time to listen, connect, and empower undergraduates as they explore and pursue their career goals. Be part of a dedicated team making a real impact by driving career readiness and shaping future-ready graduates.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Advise CDE’s interdisciplinary undergraduates and recent graduates on career exploration, job market navigation, and employability strategies.
  • Provide 1-on-1 and group coaching on career planning, job search strategies, resume and cover letter reviews, and interview preparation.
  • Design, organize and conduct workshops on essential career skills (e.g., resume writing, interviews, networking, workplace communication, and personal branding), industry-themed career events and briefings to prepare students for workplace expectations.
  • Design and implement experiential learning programs to enhance career and workplace competencies.
  • Design and drive innovative initiatives to increase student engagement with career services.
  • Collaborate with the Industry Relations team to strengthen employer engagement, understand hiring needs, and connect students to opportunities.
  • Support key CFG/CDE activities and events (e.g., Career Fairs) and advocate career services and platforms.
  • Engage and partner with faculty to deliver targeted career preparation workshops and industry talks to enhance students’ career readiness and employability.

Requirements:

  • A recognised Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Design, Built Environment, or in a relevant field with ideally, 3–5 years’ experience in professional practice, project delivery, or industry-facing roles. Experience spanning areas such as sustainability, user-centered design, operations, or innovation is advantageous. Candidates with cross-functional exposure — such as client engagement, project management, or data analysis, or strategy — will be well-equipped to advise students exploring a wide range of career pathways.
  • Prior experience in coaching/mentoring, working with undergraduates and familiarity with the use of personality profiling and career assessment tools is an advantage.
  • Good industry knowledge of the latest transformation, emerging opportunities and hiring trends is an added advantage.
  • Strong written and verbal persuasive communication skills.
  • Excellent organisational and presentation skills with strong ability to build communities, develop relationships and establish networks.
  • Resilient and adaptable
