The Opportunity
As a Career Development Advisor within the Center for Career and Professional Development at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, you will play a pivotal role in preparing students for professional success. In this student-facing role, you will support Aerospace Engineering and International students by helping them develop the skills, confidence, and career readiness necessary to thrive in a competitive job market. You will also collaborate with employers, alumni, and faculty to create meaningful career pathways, facilitate professional development programming, and connect students with high-impact opportunities in their fields of interest.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized and group career advising on topics including resumes and cover letters, interview preparation, networking, job and internship searches, career events, and salary negotiation.
- Assess students' career development needs and deliver customized strategies and resources to support their professional growth.
- Develop and lead workshops, presentations, and events focused on career readiness, including the integration of NACE career competencies.
- Actively identify and source internships, co-ops, and full-time employment opportunities by building relationships with recruiters, companies, and alumni.
- Promote and manage participation in the University's Co-op/Internship for-credit program, guiding students through registration and compliance.
- Build strong collaborations with faculty and academic departments to support students’ career planning and placement.
- Engage employers to expand recruiting partnerships and create new opportunities for Embry-Riddle students.
- Assist with Eagle Job Shadow Day, Employer visits, Career Expo, Employer Partner Tailgate and other programing events organized by the Center for Career and Professional Development.
Compensation
The annual salary range for this position is $45,000 to $47,000.
Qualifications
Required Education and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required
- 3-5 years of relevant experience in career counseling, academic advising, student support services, or human resources/recruiting (with focus on early talent or campus engagement)
- Higher education internships, graduate assistantships, or practicum roles can meet this requirement.
Knowledge of or experience in aviation/aerospace-related fields and knowledge of the military are highly desirable.
