Location
Our Kennesaw campus is located at 1000 Chastain Road NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144. Our Marietta campus is located at 1100 South Marietta Parkway, Marietta, GA 30060.
Job Summary
Conducts carpentry and drywall corrective and preventative maintenance. Repairs building framework and structures such as stairways, doorframes, roofing, furniture, cabinetry and partitions made from wood, drywall or related materials. Performs independently with high-level maintenance knowledge to include detection and correction of system failures.
Responsibilities
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performs skilled carpentry work in rough and finishing carpentry
- Installs and repairs cabinetry and furniture
- Renovates assigned locations, offices and classrooms per set guidelines
- Detects and corrects roof leaks, doors, windows and frames
- Uses drywall, construction and other relevant tools safely
- Reads and interprets drawings, schematics and/or blueprints
- Maintains a clean and safe work environment
Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent
Other Required Qualifications
Current, valid and unrestricted Georgia driver's license
Required Experience
Five (5) years related work experience
Preferred Qualifications
Additional Preferred Qualifications
Operate heavy machinery and electrical equipment.
An undergraduate or advanced degree from an accredited institution of higher education in a related field.
Proposed Salary

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
ABILITIES
Able to read and understand blueprints and drawings
Able to complete drywall construction, apply compound, install wallboards
Adhere to ASHRAE standards
Operate and work in extreme temperatures and heights including aerial lifts and ladders
Ability to build upon existing knowledge in technical application of maintenance work
Ability to understand and comply with building codes, and other technical standards and specifications is required
Ability to work non-traditional shifts to include nights and weekends
Able to handle multiple tasks or projects at one time meeting assigned deadlines
KNOWLEDGE
Knowledge of appropriate safety standards
SKILLS
Excellent interpersonal, initiative, teamwork, problem solving, independent judgment, organization, communication (verbal and written), time management, project management and presentation skills
Proficient with computer applications and programs associated with the position (i.e. Microsoft Office suite)
Strong attention to detail and follow up skills
Strong customer service skills and phone and e-mail etiquette

This position may travel 1% - 24% of the time
