Job Description:

As a member of the Academic Resource Center (ARC) team within the Division of Student Success and Enrollment Management, the Transfer Case Manager/Advisor works to ensure prospective, accepted, and enrolled transfer students have the tools and knowledge to become successful members of the MassArt community. Working in collaboration with the Office of Admission, Housing and Residential Life, and Student Engagement, the Case Manager will work to create a smooth transition for students transferring to MassArt from local community colleges and other institutions.

Salary Range: $60,000.00 - $63,000.00, commensurate with experience.

Supervision Received: Associate Director of Academic Advising

Supervision Exercised: Student employees

Hours: 37.5

Position is a grant-funded position and governed by the following APA Policies Handbook.

This position is exempt from the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act. Please note that this position is funded through an external grant. Continued employment in this role is contingent upon the availability and renewal of grant funding.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary advisor for undergraduate transfer students, guiding academic planning, major/minor selection, course registration, and university policies.
  • Support students in navigating transfer credit evaluations, building academic and social connections, and achieving their personal, academic, and professional goals.
  • Be the point of contact in the ARC for readmitted students
  • Maintain a case load of approximately 150 admitted students
  • Collaborate across campus with faculty, Student Financial Assistance, the Registrar's Office, Housing and Residence Life, Student Engagement, Admissions and other partners to ensure holistic support.
  • Utilize software and administrative systems, including retention and student records management tools (i.e., CRM Advise, Ellucian Colleague, Ellucian Student Planning, etc.)
  • Meet with prospective transfer students to provide information on MassArt course requirements
  • Maintain expertise in transfer policies, articulation agreements, and educational pathways to provide accurate and timely information
  • Take part in transfer-related programs and events
  • Collaborate with faculty advisors to strengthen transfer processes and ensure consistency
  • Develop and maintain transfer resources and communication materials, both digital and in print.
  • Collect and analyze data on transfer outcomes, event participation, and student satisfaction to inform service improvements.
  • Participate in professional development to stay current on transfer trends, legislation, and best practices for student success
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's Degree, master's degree preferred
  • 2-3 years of post-bachelor's degree work experience with at least 1 year of experience working with students in an advising capacity
  • Requires strong communication, organization, interpersonal, and computer skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work and communicate inclusively and effectively within a broadly diverse community

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Knowledge of LMS/CRM technology
