"Cashier (Student Accounts)"

Job Summary:

Provides excellent customer service through email, by phone, and in-person transactions with students. Duties also include fee collection, generating receipts, posting to student accounts, check distribution, preparing daily deposits and reports; reconciling accounts. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Job Duties:

Student facing position provides excellent customer service for Business Office. Processes student payments and departmental deposits. Tracks receipt, application, and return of 3rd party scholarship funds per instructions provided by payor. Prepares daily deposits. Answers telephone and responds to student emails. Prepares and reconciles cash receipts for all campuses. Operates and balances cash drawer. Maintain confidentiality of information and works in accordance with FERPA guidelines on the disclosure of information. Enter daily cash activity into computer system. Maintain parking decal and application fee spreadsheets. Assist in recording parking citations. Requires occasional outreach to students via phone and/or email. Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

High School diploma or equivalent. One (1) year of cashiering and cash handling.

Preferred Qualifications:

Associate degree. General knowledge of accounting procedures.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Ability to accurately handle large amounts of cash. Must demonstrate excellent communication skills (verbal and written). Be committed to a positive customer service philosophy. Intermediate skill with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Internet. Ability to analyze, reconcile, and prepare deposits and other data. Ability to operate the following equipment: computer, ten key adding machine, telephone, copier, credit card terminals, printers. Knowledge of modern office procedures and methods. Basic math and alphabetizing skills. Confident in using own initiative, prioritizing workload, and meeting deadlines. Detail oriented.

Pay Rate:

$31,578 - $37,893 annual salary depending on experience
