Cashier
Position Summary
AUIB is seeking a dynamic and experienced Cashier to drive its mission of delivering an American-style education supported by strong, transparent operations. In this pivotal role, the Cashier will receive, safeguard, document, and reconcile payments for university services (e.g., clinic services, events, certifications, and other non-student fees), ensuring daily closeout, timely deposits, complete supporting documentation, and audit-ready handoff to Accounts Receivable. If you’re a control-minded professional with a passion for accurate cash handling, customer service, and compliance, this role is for you.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive & receipt payments: Collect payments per approved pricing/payment methods and issue sequential receipts.
- Safeguard funds & instruments: Maintain secure cash-handling practices; prevent commingling; comply with DoA/SoD and controls.
- Daily closeout & reconciliation: Count cash, reconcile to receipts/system totals, document and escalate variances.
- Deposits & documentation: Prepare deposit packages, coordinate timely deposits, retain deposit proof, and maintain complete evidence files.
- AR handoff & reporting: Provide daily summaries to AR for cash application and support month-end reconciliation to Oracle GL.

- Accuracy & reconciliation discipline: Can balance a drawer and explain variances clearly.
- Integrity & control mindset: Follows SoD/DoA and escalates exceptions immediately.
- Documentation discipline: Maintains complete, organized, audit-ready records.
- Customer service professionalism: Handles public-facing transactions calmly and respectfully.
- Systems & Excel proficiency: Comfortable with transaction systems/POS and Excel tracking.
Education and Experience
- Required Education: High school diploma (minimum); Diploma/associate degree preferred; bachelor’s in business/accounting preferred.
- Years of Relevant Experience: 1–3 years cashiering/receipting/front-desk cash handling (controlled environment preferred).
- Specific Skills or Expertise: Daily cashier closeout, receipt control, deposit preparation, basic reconciliations, evidence filing, customer handling.
- Additional Certifications: Required: Microsoft Office (Excel/Word). Preferred: Oracle Fusion Receivables/cashiering or POS exposure.
- Personal Attributes: High integrity, detail-oriented, responsive, able to follow SOPs precisely, collaborative and service-oriented.
