About the Role
The Senior Educational Technology Software Developer will leverage their expertise in web and Java programming to enhance Technology Enhanced Learning (TEL) by developing bespoke tools and web applications that extend the capabilities of the Learning Management System (LMS). The role involves supporting and maintaining tools that integrate with the LMS, creating software solutions for strategic projects, and developing educational technology solutions aligned with innovative, student-focused learning designs.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Work collaboratively with key stakeholders in Digital Learning Environments, Scholarly Services and its strategic partners within the University, and follow established processes for the development, deployment, maintenance and support of tools and technologies that extend and enhance the core LMS or that support key strategic business requirements of the University.
- Create and extend interactive tools for use within subjects and courses on the learning management system to support high-quality online and blended LMS subject spaces and technology solutions
- Exercise expert software development expertise to build interfaces that integrate key 3rd party tools into the LMS or related TEL services for the purposes of learning, teaching or administration.
- Work collaboratively with teams of subject matter and domain experts to design, develop and deliver innovative and effective educational and administrative tools across multiple University faculties and via the University’s strategic Teaching and Learning Initiative (LTI) projects.
Who we are looking for
The ideal candidate possesses strong attention to detail, excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team. They are also highly organised and agile, capable of adapting to changing demands.
You will also have:
- The appointee will have: a tertiary degree in a relevant discipline with strong relevant experience or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training
- Highly developed interpersonal skills and collaborative teamwork experience, with demonstrated capacity to work concurrently with other developers on common software projects and facilitate knowledge sharing
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with a demonstrated capacity to develop and maintain excellent working relationships with staff at all levels
- A strong service ethic and an ability to manage multiple projects, set priorities, work under pressure and meet key deliverables

This role requires the successful candidate to undergo and maintain an up-to-date Working with Children Check. This is essential to guarantee a secure environment for all individuals at the University. In the case the selected candidate doesn't have a valid Working with Children Check, they will be able to apply for the WWCC as part of the initial onboarding procedures.
