Work that matters
As a casual staff member within the School of Accounting and Finance, you will play a key role in designing and developing engaging, flexible, and student-centred blended learning experiences. You will bring valuable industry insight to support the creation of innovative, pedagogy-driven approaches and the effective use of contemporary learning technologies.
The School of Accounting and Finance is a hub for learning and innovation, where globally connected, industry-relevant education and research underpin all our programs. We empower students to build strong analytical, strategic, and practical problem-solving capabilities, preparing graduates to succeed in complex and fast-moving business environments around the world.
Core Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the design development and review of Business Analytics courses.
- Ensure alignment of course content with learning outcomes, accreditation (where applicable), and industry standards.
- Develop engaging, student-centred learning activities using contemporary teaching methodologies.
- Apply data analytics tools and techniques (e.g., statistical analysis, data visualisation, predictive modelling) within course content.
- Collaborate with academic staff and program directors to ensure consistency across courses within the discipline.
- Ensure materials are accessible and inclusive, adhering to university policies and best practice in learning design.
Experience:
- Demonstrated experience in Business Analytics, or a closely related discipline.
- Demonstrated experience in higher education teaching, and/or course development.
- Practical industry experience applying analytics tools and techniques in a business context.
- Experience with relevant tools/software (e.g., Python, SQL, Java, Power BI, tableau etc).
- Experience in designing assessments and learning activities aligned with learning outcomes.
- Familiarity with online and blended learning environments (e.g., LMS platforms such as Canvas) will be an added advantage.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Graduate or postgraduate qualification in Business Analytics or a closely related field.
- Professional experience in the application of business analytics.
- Demonstrated capability in applying analytical techniques to real-world business problems.
- Understanding of contemporary learning and teaching principles, including constructive alignment and student engagement strategies.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and meet deadlines.
- Eligibility to work in Australia.
