Position Summary
The purpose of this position is to provide clerical assistance to the diverse Dining Service operations. The Food Services Office Support Specialist will perform general office work that may include varying amounts of record and document processing, file maintenance, volume word processing, mail handling, public contact/information dissemination, clear communication for guests/students, basic bookkeeping, answering phones, and data entry.
Work is performed in support of Dining Services and requires a general knowledge of institutional business operations, policies, procedures, and office technology. This position exhibits appropriate professional behavior encouraging a respectful and inclusive work environment. This position is a full-time, 12-month position that will be scheduled based on the needs of the various operations in Dining.
Minimum Requirements
- Completion of courses or training in Office Technology; OR
- One year of general clerical experience which included typing, word processing, or other generation of documents; OR
- An equivalent combination of training and experience.

- Ability to manage multiple priorities, solve problems, and stay organized with keen attention to detail.
- Strong customer service skills and ability to communicate effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
- Ability to understand and follow guidelines, policies, and procedures.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Data entry.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with food service software.
- Experience working in the hospitality industry.
