Position: CDL A Driver
Reports to: Operations Manager
Position Purpose: The driver’s primary purpose is to transport goods
Requirements: Two years CDL A experience
Job Responsibilities and Accountabilities
- Completes thorough pre-trip & post-trip inspections.
- Records time worked using electronic device
- Uses all personal protective equipment properly
- Loads and unloads cargo safely, efficiently and effectively
- Follows traffic laws and client on-site regulations
- Effectively operates vehicle in adverse road and weather conditions
- Reports all accidents, near misses and safety violations
- Communicates with dispatch via phone & messaging regarding location, loads and time worked
- Attends mandatory safety meetings
- Keeps truck cab neat and tidy
- Fuel truck when nearing empty and frequently checks and replenishes fluid levels
- Completes company & client paperwork in an accurate and timely manner
- Communicates with client representatives in a respectful, professional manner
- Other duties as assigned
Job Requirements
Relevant Experience, Education, Certification, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Valid Class A CDL
- Current valid medical certification
- Two years of experience as a Class A CDL Driver
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language
- Ability to effectively use application to scan bar codes, type notes and navigate through applications
- Ability to read a map or receive directions over the phone or electronic tablet device
- Ability to work under extreme stress and small spaces
- Ability to multi-task and easily problem solve during high stress situations
Physical Requirements
- Most work is performed in extreme temperature environments. Incumbent may be exposed to loud noises, extreme cold or heat, rain, snow, sleet, hail, wind, dust, mud and uneven ground surfaces
- Incumbent may sit for long periods of time in a truck
- Incumbent may encounter rough, uneven roads that jostles operator up and down, side to side
- Incumbent will lift weights up to 50 pounds and must lift, push, pull and hold heavy objects
- Incumbent will climb stairs, bend, stretch and twist side to side daily
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and ability to hear deadly gas monitor warnings

Compensation details: 24-26 Hourly Wage
