CDT Administrator

The role

We are looking for a proactive and well-organised administrator to join our team and support two Centres for Doctoral Training (CDTs) in Digital Health and Care, and Robotics and Autonomous Systems.

Working closely with the CDT Managers, the role holder will help deliver the day-to-day operation of the CDTs. This is a varied role offering excellent insight into a wide range of university processes, systems, and teams. You will be part of a smaller CDT team, while also working closely with a larger School team.

A flexible approach to changing priorities and being reactive to challenges faced throughout the year is vital to support the programme.

The role holder will be required to work at Ada Lovelace Building, 1 Cathedral Square, and Bristol Robotics Laboratory (located at UWE) when required to support CDT events. There is an expectation to work in the office two days per week.

This is a part-time post offering 21 hours per week, with fixed funding until May 2027 or the early return of the post-holder.

Applications for up to 28 hours per week would be considered.

What will you be doing?

  • Work closely with the CDT Managers and Management Teams.
  • Be a first point of contact for enquiries; providing appropriate guidance and referring more complex issues to the CDT Managers.
  • Develop, update and maintain databases, spreadsheets and webpages, and handle confidential material appropriately.
  • Purchase goods and services, arrange travel and accommodation for students, raise requisitions and purchase orders.
  • Plan and prioritise their own work activities, responding to CDT priorities.
  • With direction from the CDT Managers, organise and support internal activities and events.

You should apply if

  • You have exceptional customer service skills, and excellent written and verbal communication.
  • You are confident using Microsoft applications and would be comfortable learning university finance and student administration systems.
  • You are self-organised, and able to prioritise your own workload.
  • You enjoy working independently, as well as part of a team.
  • You have excellent problem-solving skills and enjoy troubleshooting.
  • You have experience adhering to policies and procedures, such as data protection.
