Student Cases and Conduct Officer (Safeguarding and Complex Cases)
Key Responsibilities
- Triage, assess and manage complex student cases, including safeguarding, welfare, Prevent and conduct-related matters.
- Work directly with students, including those experiencing complex personal circumstances, and liaise with internal teams and external agencies.
- Prepare and present cases to university panels and groups, including Student Case Management Group and Safeguarding/Prevent forums.
- Maintain accurate, timely and GDPR-compliant case records, reports and referrals.
- Contribute to the development of policy, guidance, training and shared good practice in student case management.
About the Department
Student Experience and Support is central to the University of Salford’s mission to help students thrive academically, personally and socially. The Student Cases, Conduct and Safeguarding (SCCS) team manages some of the University’s most complex and sensitive student matters, working in close partnership with academic schools, professional services and external agencies. Our work spans student conduct, safeguarding, Prevent, support to study and fitness to practise, with a strong emphasis on consistent, trauma-aware and policy-led responses.
