Job Description Summary
The Center for Ethics and the Rule of Law (CERL), affiliated with Penn Global at Penn, is a non-partisan interdisciplinary institute dedicated to preserving and promoting ethics and the rule of law in national security, warfare, and democratic governance. CERL draws from the study of law, philosophy, and ethics to answer the difficult questions that arise in domestic and transnational crises and conflicts.
Under limited supervision, the coordinator is responsible for coordinating a portfolio of CERL activities and programs, completing all required assignments, and providing the highest level of service to faculty, staff, and program participants. This full-time position will report to the Executive Director.
Job Description
Job Responsibilities
- Manage the schedule and calendar for CERL and members of its leadership team, organize and track center supplies, screen telephone/written communications, and compose/edit routine correspondence
- Manage logistics for CERL Executive Board and Advisory Council meetings. Procure food and beverages for CERL events and meetings
- Coordinate and schedule events in conjunction with the leadership team to include book talks, conferences, and seminars; arrange venues and communicate with vendors; manage guest lists and assist with all aspects of participant management; prepare itineraries/schedules; facilitate guest reimbursements; and provide on-site coordination at events from setup to breakdown.
- Prepare printed and electronic materials for board meetings, conferences, visitors, center mailings, etc.
- Manage reimbursements in coordination with the business office.
- Enter data into online project management software and organize and update center files
- Coordinate travel arrangements for participants of CERL events and CERL team members
- Manage and supervise student workers and coordinate their workload and assignments
- Assist with website maintenance and other communications platforms, including Mailchimp and social media pages, as requested
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree, and 1 to 2 years of experience (2 to 3 years of experience preferred) or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
