The primary mission of The Counseling and Personal Development Center (CPDC) is to provide programs and outreach services to promote student engagement and assist in the emotional, psychological, physical, and intellectual development of students.

Primary Purpose of the Position:

The Certified Licensed Counselor serves as a key member of the larger team of committed mental health professionals and promotes emotional well-being and support services to assist in the emotional, psychological, and intellectual development of students with diverse backgrounds. The position is responsible for the delivery of comprehensive behavioral health/substance use counseling services to our varied student population with a focus on reducing risks associated with self-harm behaviors and suicidology. The position will provide individual, couples, and group counseling services, transformative presentations, and in-service training to augment the total educational process, thereby maintaining a climate conducive to all students’ academic growth and development.

Minimum Education And Experience Requirements:

• Master’s degree or above
• State Certification in Counseling

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities:

• Knowledge of current literature and access to professional memberships.
• Ability to interpret and utilize assessment data;
• Ability to conduct comprehensive counseling evaluations.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Four to five (4-5) years of post-graduate clinical experience providing comprehensive behavioral health/substance use counseling services.
• Experience in a university counseling center.
• Preference for candidates with demonstrated experience working with military/military-affiliated communities.
• Successful candidates will be generalists who are multi-culturally affirming and possess experience in working with diverse populations.
• Preference for candidates who have experience and a strong interest in providing outreach presentations and group work.
• Experience in program assessment and evaluation.
