CFAR Africure Program Coordinator (International Health)

The Department of International Health at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health is seeking a Program Coordinator. The Program Coordinator is responsible for the implementation of a specific program under general supervision and direction. The Program Coordinator participates in program development, planning, and implementation. The position is responsible for day-to-day operations of the program and achieving short and long-term program goals. May supervise or oversee operational staff with program responsibilities.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities
- Contribute to goal setting and identify program operational requirements to meet programmatic goals.
- Obtain and utilize internal and external resources to meet program goals.
- Serve as primary contact for the program with internal departments and external organizations.
- Responsible for monitoring budget expenses, processing invoices, performing budget reconciliation, and assisting with budget development.
- Compile documentation related to funding and finance.
- Identify and resolve programmatic problems.
- Assist with planning events and coordinate preparation, set up and logistics for events/functions.
- Coordinate communication activities via websites, social media channels, and publication materials as needed.
- Ensure timely, accurate and appropriate reporting of program activities.
- Other duties as assigned.
In addition to the duties described above
- Organize a multi-day Africure retreat in Eastern or Southern Africa.
- Create and disseminate quarterly Africure newsletters that highlight program activities and events, funding opportunities in HIV cure research, and Africure scholar updates.
- Support completion of sponsor progress reports.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or graduation equivalent.
- Four years progressively responsible administrative experience.
- Additional education may substitute for required experience, and additional related experience may substitute for required education permitted by the JHU equivalency formula beyond a high school diploma/graduation equivalent, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Public Health.
- Prior experience organizing meetings in Africa.
- Prior experience working in Africa.
