Reporting directly to the Dean, the Department Chair will play a pivotal role in advancing the BSN program's continued development, with a strong focus on achieving and maintaining CCNE accreditation standards, fostering academic excellence, and preparing practice-ready, compassionate nurses.
Key responsibilities include providing strategic academic and administrative leadership, guiding program development and accreditation, recruiting and mentoring faculty, overseeing curriculum, engaging in student success initiatives, promoting scholarship, collaborating with the Simulation Center, and serving on the College Executive Committee.
Detailed roles cover students, faculty & staff, and program development & administration, including advisement, recruitment, evaluation, budgeting, and compliance with assessment and accreditation requirements.
Qualifications and Attributes
- Nursing doctoral degree (DNP, Ph.D. or equivalent) required.
- Experience as a nursing educator in an accredited nursing program.
- Experience with CCNE and ACNE accreditation strongly preferred.
- Must be a registered nurse eligible for licensure in New York.
- Eligible for appointment at Associate or Full Professor level with research and scholarship experience.
