The University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine (Pitt) and University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC) seek an accomplished and collaborative leader to serve as the Chair of the Department of Radiology. The next Chair will join the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, one of the nation's premier medical institutions with a distinguished legacy in advancing clinical care, research, and medical education. In 2024, the School ranked 8th in the nation in NIH funding, receiving more than $535 million in NIH awards. With more than 2,600 full-time faculty members driving innovation in medical research and education, the School creates an environment where scientific discovery directly informs medical education and patient care—providing the next Chair of Radiology with extraordinary resources and collaborative opportunities.

A global leader in imaging science and clinical care, the Department of Radiology comprises nearly 200 dedicated clinical and research faculty and performs nearly two million procedures annually. The Department also boasts a nationally recognized research program, ranked 11th among diagnostic radiology departments with over $16 million in NIH funding. Its educational mission has a rich tradition and continues to evolve to meet emerging needs, offering learners diverse opportunities in diagnostic and interventional radiology.
