The University is looking for a Chair Professor in the Wu Jieh Yee School of Interdisciplinary Studies to provide strong academic leadership in both research and teaching, and to contribute to the management and development of the Wu Jieh Yee School of Interdisciplinary Studies. The appointee is expected to have top tier scholarship on sustainability and the environment, and have experience in leading interdisciplinary studies. Specific research areas may include climate change and carbon neutrality, clean energy and energy storage, material genomics and the AI/ML-assisted design of advanced materials, and sustainable environments and infrastructure for AI adoption.
The appointee will be concurrently appointed as Dean of the Wu Jieh Yee School of Interdisciplinary Studies (https://www.ln.edu.hk/academics/wu-jieh-yee-school-of-interdisciplinary-studies). The appointee will be expected to provide academic and administrative leadership in teaching, research and curriculum development, and to drive translational knowledge transfer through transformative research-academia-industry capacity building.
General Requirements
Candidates should have (a) a PhD degree in a relevant discipline with substantial teaching experience; (b) a strong international reputation and an outstanding track record of high impact research publications and competitive research grants; (c) strong research leadership capabilities and experience, with a commitment to supporting faculty development in research and providing effective research supervision to students; and (d) previous administrative leadership experience at the Department or Faculty/School level will be a distinct advantage.

Appointment
A globally competitive remuneration package commensurate with the appointee’s qualifications and experience will be offered.
