Job Description:
The Chef oversees daily kitchen operations and culinary activities, develops menus, and ensures food quality, presentation, sanitation , and compliance with applicable standards and regulations. This position supervises mentors, and trains kitchen staff, manages inventory, ordering, and cost-effective use of resources; and coordinates with service staff and management to support prompt, effective service.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily kitchen operations and ensure culinary activities align with established standards and regulations
- Develop and update menus
- Maintain high standards of food quality, presentations, portion sizes, garnishing, and sanitation
- Monitor food preparation methods and ensure food is prepared and presented in an acceptable manner
- Supervise, mentor, and train kitchen staff, fostering a positive and efficient work environment
- Manage inventory and order supplies to support kitchen operations
Requirements/Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a chef in a reputable restaurant or hotel
- Culinary degree or equivalent professional certification
- Strong knowledge of culinary techniques and food preparation
- Ability to develop menus
- Understanding of food and safety regulations
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
