Position Summary
The Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry is accepting expressions of interest for overload faculty or adjunct faculty to teach various courses during fall, winter, spring and summer quarters. Courses include but are not limited to:
- General Chemistry I and II.
- Chemistry of the Elements.
- Organic Chemistry I, II and III.
- Science of Contemporary Issues I, II and III.
- Environmental Chemistry Series
- Atmospheric Chemistry
- Aquatic Chemistry
- Biochemistry series

Statements of interest for winter and spring quarters should be submitted at least one month prior to the start of the quarter.
Required Qualifications
- Ph.D. in Chemistry or related field
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience teaching a similar course at the University of Denver
Work Schedule
While the University's administrative offices are open Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm, faculty schedules vary from term to term and are based on courses taught, service commitments, and research agendas. The University's academic calendars are posted on the registrar's website (the law school is on a semester system and has a different academic calendar).

Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis for the 2025-2026 academic year.

Course Rate
Adjunct faculty are compensated at the rate of $4,952 to $6,189 per course.
The University of Denver has provided a compensation range that represents its good faith estimate of what the University may pay for the position at the time of posting. The salary offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal salary equity considerations, and available market information, but not based on a candidate's sex or any other protected status.
