Overview

The Chemistry Ph.D. program at West Virginia University has a much wider scope than the M.S. program. Ph.D. students are expected to take a broad range of advanced coursework, both within and outside of the major area of interest.

Research

The Ph.D. program culminates in the preparation and defense of the Ph.D. dissertation.
Students in the PhD program are required to take a total of three courses outside of their division and coursework within their chosen field of research (divisional or otherwise) that is necessary for training.
