CHI-Zone: Commercial Contracts Officer (0.5fte) - Grade 7

The Civic HealthTech Innovation Zone (CHI-Zone) has been established to accelerate the growth of the health and life science sector, upskill residents and create jobs for the Liverpool City Region.

As the CHI-Zone Commercial Contracts Officer you will play a key part in supporting the CHI-Zone’s portfolio of commercial and innovation projects. This role offers an exceptional opportunity for an experienced legal professional with a strong interest in emerging technologies across the health and care sector, with a commitment to delivering both social and commercial impact.

Ideally, you will bring experience of working within R&D environments and benefit from a detailed understanding of regulatory frameworks that govern the health and care sectors as well as a keen interest in IP as it pertains to technology development. This role will suit someone who thrives in a multidisciplinary setting and enjoys applying legal insight to drive innovation and partnership development.

Reporting to the Head of Research Contracts  and working closely with and receiving instructions from the CHI-Zone Programme Manager, you will play an important part in helping the CHI-Zone to accelerate the development and adoption of new health and care technologies that enhance health, independence, and economic prosperity in the Liverpool City Region and beyond.

The post is available on a fixed term basis from 1 April  2026 until 31 March 2027.

Although the university has a hybrid working system, the expectation is that the successful applicant appointed to this role will be expected to work more than 60% on campus.
