We are currently seeking a Chief AI Transformation Officer who will advance the institutions proud tradition of excellence in academics, student life and community service.
Job Summary
Leads the Colleges strategic initiatives around artificial intelligence, ensuring responsible adoption, integration, and innovation across departments. This role bridges technical expertise with institutional vision to enhance teaching, learning, research, and administrative efficiency.
This position will serve as the executive team liaison to aggressively and collegially facilitate a quality transformative infrastructure that provides superior service and supports the strategic growth, objectives and imperatives of the College. The position will help facilitate and coordinate the deliverables of transformation and deliver operational solutions to strategic issues.

Responsible for the design, execution, and effectiveness of a system of internal controls which provides reasonable assurance that operations are effective and efficient, assets are safeguarded, financial information is reliable and compliant with applicable law, regulation, policies and procedures.
Manages Talent Engagement activities for direct reports in regards to: recruiting and selection; hiring and termination, training, development, mentoring, counseling, and performance evaluations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
In partnership with the Chief Information Officer and Instructional Leadership, lead cross-functional teams to develop and execute a college-wide AI strategy aligned with institutional goals.
Develop a framework to prioritize and manage transformation in alignment with strategic priorities and mission-enabled imperatives.
Identify and work to resolve strategic and operational issues.
Advise senior leadership on emerging AI trends and their implications for higher education.
Champion ethical AI practices and ensure compliance with data governance policies.
Collaborate with faculty to embed AI into curricula, research programs and interdisciplinary AI initiatives across departments.
Lead pilot projects and innovation labs focused on AI applications in education and support development of new AI-related courses, certificates, and degree programs.
Lead collaboration with college leadership and staff to develop and implement short and long term strategic and operational plans that align with the HCC Strategic Plan and present operational plans to advance HCCs AR/VR (AI)-powered teaching and learning focus and collaborate to adopt and implement district-wide initiatives.
Oversee the implementation of HCCs district-wide AI-enabled educational technology into external training, teaching, and learning initiatives where HCC has implemented a collaborative agreement.
Oversee the research, development, and execution of emerging and innovative methods for technology-enhanced course delivery and collaborate with IT leadership to ensure the appropriate technology infrastructure is in place to support technology-enhanced instructional innovation, teaching and learning.
Identify opportunities to enhance administrative processes using AI (e.g., admissions, student support, facilities) and educate stakeholders (students, faculty, staff) about AI capabilities and risks.
Oversee implementation of AI tools for predictive analytics, personalization, and automation.
Foster partnerships with industry, government, and other academic institutions.
Secure funding and grants for AI initiatives.
Act as liaison with District, State, and Federal governing bodies regarding HCCs programs and technology-enhanced learning practices.
Host workshops, seminars, and public forums on AI literacy and ethics.
Perform other duties, tasks and assignments as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education & Experience
- Masters degree required
- Doctorate in Computer Science, Data Science, AI or related field preferred
- 10 years leadership experience, including 5 years experience overseeing project management, instructional development, technology-enhanced curriculum design, and strategic planning required
- Technology-enhanced teaching experience in higher education preferred

Working Conditions
General Office. Must be able to perform all job requirements with or without reasonable accommodations; remain in a stationary position during shift; move items weighing up to 25 pounds; position self to operate job equipment; apply established protocols in a timely manner.
