POSITION SUMMARY

A Child Care Aide 2 (CCA) serves as a classroom teachers aide in the Child Development Center. This position has primary responsibility in aiding in the managing of an Early Childhood Education classroom under the direction of a Child Care Specialist on the college campus. The CCA assists in providing quality childcare and age appropriate learning experiences designed to promote social, physical, and intellectual growth.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Fiscal Stewardship

  • Child Care Aide 2 ensures compliance with federal, state, and local regulations as well as policies and reporting requirements related to the areas of the Child Development Center to help minimize any financial costs.
  • Child Care Aide 2 serves as part of the benefit to the College student and employee in terms of enhancing growth in student enrollment and employee productivity.

Holistic Student Support

  • Child Care Aide 2 creates an inviting, safe, and educational environment for children 6 weeks -5 years. The center provides care for the children of the colleges students as well as faculty and staff.

Organizational Culture and Inclusive Practices.

  • Child Care Aide 2 role is to help children value cultural, racial and socioeconomic diversity well as gender differences and special needs in family backgrounds.
  • Child Care Aide 2 embraces and promotes the colleges goals related to diversity, equity, and inclusion by leading the classroom to utilize best practices to provide equity-minded services for college students and their children.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Required High School diploma.
  • CPR and First Aid Certification within six months of employment date
  • Educational practicum or one year in a licensed child care center

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND WORK CHARACTERISTICS

  • Ability to use instructional methods, materials, and program development; psychological and biological needs of children
  • Ability to evaluate situations (routine and/or crisis) and make decisions using sound judgment; to perform physical requirements associated with the supervision of young children; to maintain confidentiality; to handle multiple, simultaneous work demands; to maintain flexibility and be able to adapt to change

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine cleaning duties to provide a safe and healthy environment
  • Assist children with personal needs and hygiene
  • Develop and implement age-appropriate learning and development activities
  • Organize visual aids to create interesting and attractive learning environments
  • Maintain attendance and evaluation records; conduct parent conferences
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned

Projected Salary Range: $27,845 - $32,718 ($14.28 - $16.78/HR)
