Shenandoah University’s Child Care Center is accepting applications
for a substitute. This is a part-time non-benefited position
located at our Child Care Center in Winchester, Virginia.
Purpose/Essential Job Function:
Assist teachers and their assistants in all aspects of their classroom and with the children.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist director, assistant director, teachers and assistants in daily activities and classroom needs; work a flexible schedule based on staffing needs; complete book orders, dishes, laundry as needed; maintain confidentiality in all classrooms, and keep an upbeat attitude.

- Shall be at least 18 years of age
- Shall have previous experience working with young children in a group childcare setting.
- Have effective oral and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Great thinking skills
- Ability to focus on multi-tasks
- Cope with high stress levels
- Maintain confidentiality
- Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds
- Have physical dexterity, and have the ability to reach arms above head
- Must be willing to receive annually 16 in-service hours
- CPR and First Aid
- Attend staff meetings
