CHINA RESEARCH SUPPORT ASSOCIATE 2, Security Studies Program (SSP), to provide research assistance and support projects for the SSP Director, as well as associated faculty researchers, on topics related to China's foreign and security policies. Will perform research, collect, organize, and analyze data, coordinate multiple research-related projects, summarize and document findings, proof-read research papers and articles, assist with fact-checking, editing, formatting, and other support for faculty, researchers and fellows working on China and security topics. This is an ideal position for someone interested in gaining research experience in political science with an interest in China's foreign and security policies before pursuing graduate education.

REQUIRED: A high school diploma or equivalent; a minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience (which may include coursework or experience gained as an undergraduate); keen interest in China's foreign and security policies; advanced Chinese language skills; ability to coordinate several projects simultaneously; strong organizational, project management, analytical, problem-solving, critical thinking, and written and verbal communication skills; meticulous attention to detail; technical proficiency with MS Office/Outlook and willingness to learn new programs and software as needed; ability to work both independently and as part of a team; be a highly motivated individual who exhibits excellent interpersonal skills, especially when working with visitors; and ability to deal with confidential information and/or issues using discretion and judgement.
PREFERRED: A bachelor's degree in Political Science, International Relations, History, or a related field.
This is a one-year position with a flexible start date. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship. For non-U.S. citizens, valid U.S. work authorization is required at the time of hire.
It is a hybrid schedule with three days/week in the office, and some occasional evening and/or weekend work will be required.
