Voor ons team zijn wij op zoek naar een enthousiaste en flexibele dierenarts. Binnen de afdeling vallen onder andere de vakgebieden orthopedie, neurochirurgie, algemene chirurgie, oncologische chirurgie, KNO, urologie, thoraxchirurgie en dierfysiotherapie. Je werkzaamheden bestaan uit het in toenemende mate zelfstandig bijdragen aan patiëntenzorg en onderwijs binnen het Departement Clinical Sciences. Tijdens deze werkzaamheden begeleid je masterstudenten Diergeneeskunde die actief participeren in de kliniek. Daarnaast participeer je in dag-, avond-, nacht- en weekenddiensten van de Spoedzorg van de kliniek.
Je zal een belangrijke rol innemen in de patiëntenzorg en het onderwijs aan studenten. Het internship biedt de kans om, onder begeleiding van specialisten, veel ervaring op te doen met spoed- en verwijspatiënten.
De caseload in ons derdelijns veterinair ziekenhuis en de hoge kwaliteit van medische zorg die wij kunnen geven, maakt de functie uitermate interessant en leerzaam voor dierenartsen die zich wensen te verdiepen in de chirurgie van gezelschapsdieren. Het vormt een zeer goede basis voor een residency (specialisatie).
Requirements
Wij zoeken een dierenarts met een sterke motivatie en een positieve instelling. Enige werkervaring heeft onze voorkeur, maar is geen vereiste. Je beheerst de Nederlandse en Engelse taal in woord en geschrift. Wij vinden het belangrijk dat onze nieuwe collega goed ontwikkelde communicatieve vaardigheden heeft, zowel met eigenaren en studenten als met collega’s. Effectief werken en affiniteit met het begeleiden van co-assistenten zijn daarnaast ook essentieel.
Conditions of employment
- a job for .... (fill in);
- a permanent employment contract;
- a working week of 36 - 40 hours and a gross monthly salary between € 3.706 and €5.760 in the case of full-time employment (salary scale 10 under the Collective Labour Agreement for Dutch Universities (CAO NU));
- 8% holiday pay and 8.3% year-end bonus;
- a pension scheme, partially paid parental leave and flexible terms of employment based on the CAO NU.

Clinical Sciences
At the Department of Clinical Sciences, you will work alongside approximately 150 veterinarians and a similar number of support staff. Approximately two-thirds of the veterinarians are specialists in various disciplines; the remaining one-third consists of interns, residents and PhD students. Together we are responsible for the education of veterinary students, provision of clinical services to horses and companion animals, and both clinical and more fundamental research in the areas of regenerative medicine, locomotion, genetics and reproduction.
