Job Description
Salve Regina University's Department of Music, Theatre, and Dance invites applications for a one-year, half-time Interim Choral Director and Lecturer for the 2026-2027 academic year. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the university's choral program, including rehearsals, performances, recruitment, and ensemble administration. Additional responsibilities include the design and/or supervision of concert production elements such as lighting, sound, staging, and performance attire.
We seek a colleague who is committed to helping students become well-rounded artists, critical thinkers, and responsible citizens within a supportive and professional environment. The ability to work collaboratively with faculty and students across music, theatre and dance is essential. The ideal candidate will have a demonstrable history as a dedicated educator, and a record of social consciousness.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Leadership of the choral program including directing multiple choral ensembles
- Teach two courses (6 credit hours [two choral ensembles]) per semester
- Work closely with student facilitators of a cappella groups
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Participation in Department of Music, Theatre and Dance planning, recruitment, retention of students and additional service-related efforts as they arise.
Requirements
Required:
- Minimum requirement of Master of Music or equivalent professional experience.
Preferred:
- PhD or DMA preferred
- Teaching experience at the undergraduate level preferred
