About the program
The graduate program in Classics at the University of Toronto provides advanced study and research opportunities in all aspects of Greco-Roman antiquity.
Literature and history are central to the field, and the initial stage of our program aims to provide every student with mastery of the Greek and Latin languages and familiarity with basic works of literature in all major genres.
This training is the foundation for research into any aspect of Greco-Roman antiquity for which our faculty can provide supervision.

General requirements
- Applicants are considered for admission if they have successfully completed a master's program in classics with sufficient training for the field in which they are seeking admission.
- Students who have completed the MA program in Classics at the University of Toronto are required to have grades of at least B+ in all graded coursework and a grade of at least A– on the Graduate Research Paper CLA2000Y.
