SUMMARY:
The Web Content Specialist/Internal Resources, under the direction of management, creates, reviews, edits, and assists in producing internal resources website content that supports and increases efforts to fulfill the mission of the Office of Marketing and Communications and the university. Projects also include working internally (Marcomm) and externally (stakeholders) to ensure content on the site is up-to-date, compliant, and searchable.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assists in carrying out the web content strategy
- Upholds A&M-Commerce’s brand guidelines for web writing
- Edits publishes, and maintains WordPress webpages for accuracy and adherence to brand guidelines
- Communicates directly with stakeholders to develop, update and revise content
- Educates stakeholders on the website maintenance process and brand guidelines
- Reviews and revises content
- Develops link-building strategies
- Assists with organizing the content and pages in a searchable and user-friendly manner
- Researches and reports on best practices for web publications
- Fosters relationships with campus partners and key persons to create relevant and accurate internal resource pages
This job description shall include but is not necessarily limited to the above duties. The position may require temporarily performing other duties as assigned to maintain operations and services.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience: Prior experience in content writing and/or content editing.
- Knowledge: Knowledge of Associated Press, Chicago Manual of Style or similar style guides. Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet and database programs.
- Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong organizational, time management, and analytical skills
- Ability to:
- Think creatively and strategically, and identify and resolve problems
- Multitask and work cooperatively with others
- Present information clearly and concisely
- Work within a project management system
- Licensing/Professional Certifications: None

PREFERRED EDUCATION/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
- Master’s degree in related field
- Four or more years of position-related professional experience
- Experience in a higher education setting with education professionals
- Experience working in the Teamwork project management system or a similar system
SUPERVISION OF OTHERS:
- Assists with training and supervising student workers and graduate assistants as needed
