Creating a brighter future for life in the Tropics and beyond, through education and research that makes a difference locally, and globally, James Cook University (JCU) is looking to appoint an Associate Lecturer / Lecturer / Senior Lecturer, Clinical Exercise Physiology within the College of Healthcare Sciences (CHS). This position is offered on a Full-time, continuing basis and is based at our Bebegu Yumba campus in Townsville.
ABOUT THE ROLE
An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced and skilled academic to join our team as an Associate Lecturer/Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Clinical Exercise Physiology. Combining clinical research/practice with high-quality teaching and educational development will be fundamental to support the mentoring of future accredited exercise physiologists (AEPs).
ABOUT YOU
Having completed, or nearing completion, of a doctoral qualification in Clinical Exercise Physiology or a relevant field, you can demonstrate relevant teaching and research experience as well as effective curriculum development and delivery across various modes (e.g. virtual, face-to-face, etc) with a commitment to excellence in teaching.
You will also:
- Have experience with, or a willingness to embrace, technology, innovation and blended learning for high-quality learning outcomes.
- Be able to integrate research/practice and quality teaching to enhance student engagement and success.
- Have an established or emerging research career within the field to support undergraduate and higher degree research candidates.
- Have excellent interpersonal, written and oral skills, along with excellent organizational skills.
ABOUT THE COLLEGE HEALTHCARE SCIENCES
The College of Healthcare Sciences promotes, fosters, supports and administers quality teaching and research at JCU in the areas of Physiotherapy, Speech Pathology, Occupational Therapy, Nursing and Midwifery, Psychology, and Sport and Exercise Science. Working in a collaborative leadership model with the Office of the Division, the other Colleges and the Centre for Rural and Remote Health, the College of Healthcare Sciences contributes to advancing the strategic agenda and to strengthening partnerships and engagement.
