About the Role

Are you an experienced Front End Developer?  

Join our Digital Channel Operations team and make a significant impact in the University’s public-facing websites, applications, design system and content management system! 

Your responsibilities will encompass translating business requirements and designs into technical specifications, prototypes, and front-end code using HTML, CSS and JavaScript. By keeping code maintainable and providing clear documentation, you will contribute to reducing risk and facilitating knowledge sharing within the team. 

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Maintain the University’s design system to ensure consistency and efficiency across all web applications and digital products
  • Manage front-end development and translate business requirements and wireframes/designs into technical specs, prototypes, mock-ups, and finally into front-end code (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
  • Collaborate with technology vendors and other developers to ensure high-quality code and browser functionality
  • Document and communicate the design system’s guidelines and best practices to ensure its proper usage and adoption across different teams


Who we are looking for

We’re looking for an experienced Front End Developer who is a self-starter with a mature approach to work. You're able to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.

You will also have:

  • Demonstrated extensive experience as a Front End Developer
  • Experience in building responsive web applications using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript 
  • Proficiency in working with Vue.js or other modern front-end frameworks 
  • Experience in leveraging design systems and implementing web components to create visually appealing and user-friendly interface
  • Working experience in testing, including unit testing, end-to-end testing, or debugging and diagnosing erros

This role requires the successful candidate to undergo and maintain an up-to-date Working with Children Check. This is essential to guarantee a secure environment for all individuals at the University. In the case the selected candidate doesn't have a valid Working with Children Check, they will be able to apply for the WWCC as part of the initial onboarding procedures.
