Clinical Assistant Professor
Position Summary
The Department of Environmental Health Science seeks applicants with a strong academic record in teaching, research, and service in the field of environmental health with a focus on instruction. This full-time position offers a dynamic blend of teaching innovation, student mentorship, and advising duties. The successful candidate will have the opportunity leverage their scientific expertise and teaching excellence to develop and deliver courses that educate and empower students to address the most pressing environmental health challenges facing our world today and tomorrow.
The position is a calendar year (12 month) appointment, focused on instruction, and is not on the tenure track. The successful candidate will be required to teach 24 credit-hours of instruction per year (80% effort), including online courses. There is a 10% time-commitment for advising online Master’s of Public Health students, 5% for research, and 5% service. Additional research effort can be accommodated through successful extramural funding and instructional buyout. Serving as the Undergraduate coordinator (BSEH) is also available for a 10% reduction in instruction. Significant protected instructional time is available for the development of new courses. The position is available immediately with a start date no later than July 1st, 2026.
