Clinical Assistant Professor
The LUI Advanced Clinical Fellowship in Implant Dentistry within the Ashman Department of Periodontology & Implant Dentistry seeking a highly qualified clinical assistant professor to join our team. The role entails academic and administrative leadership of a comprehensive fellowship program focused on advanced training in both surgical implant placement and restorative implant dentistry.
This is a full-time faculty position with responsibilities include developing and delivering the didactic and clinical curriculum, supervising patient care, mentoring fellows, coordinating with faculty and staff, and overseeing daily program operations. The faculty member is expected to foster a collaborative and innovative learning environment, uphold academic and clinical standards, and contribute to the continued growth and excellence of implant education at the institution.
In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is $125K - $195K. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer.
Qualifications:
- DDS, DMD, or equivalent dental degree from an accredited institution
- Advanced training in implant dentistry, periodontics, prosthodontics, or a related specialty
- Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience with demonstrated expertise in both surgical implant placement and restorative implant dentistry
- Previous academic or postgraduate teaching experience preferred
- Experience in program administration, curriculum development, or clinical education leadership strongly desired
- Active or eligible for licensure in New York State
- Demonstrated track record of clinical excellence, professionalism, and a strong commitment to education
- Exceptional interpersonal and organizational skills, with the ability to lead, mentor, and collaborate effectively with fellows, residents, and faculty
- Interest in innovation, interdisciplinary collaboration, and continued advancement of implant education and patient care
