Job Description
Tarleton State University invites applications for the position of Clinical Assistant Professor & Nursing Student Success and Retention Coordinator in the College of Nursing. This is a 12-month, non-tenure-track position located on Tarleton’s main campus in Stephenville, Texas.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
80% Teaching and Service:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver lectures, seminars, and/or laboratory offerings to nursing students.
- Develop course syllabi, select instructional materials, and design assessments.
- Assess student performance and provide timely feedback.
- Enter essential information into the TSU EAB system.
- Engage students in active learning and provide academic support.
- Document student remediation interventions and generate reports.
20% Administrative:
- Collaborate on curriculum reviews.
- Participate in the Admission, Progression, and Retention (APR) Committee.
- Foster retention of current BSN students.
- Orient/mentor new faculty.
- Review Course Evaluations, HESI results and make recommendations.
Minimum Requirements
- Earned doctorate/terminal degree in nursing or related field.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
- Current, unencumbered RN license in Texas.
