Clinical Assistant Professor & Nursing Student Success and Retention Coordinator

Job Description

Tarleton State University invites applications for the position of Clinical Assistant Professor & Nursing Student Success and Retention Coordinator in the College of Nursing. This is a 12-month, non-tenure-track position located on Tarleton’s main campus in Stephenville, Texas.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

80% Teaching and Service:

• Plan, prepare, and deliver lectures, seminars, and/or laboratory offerings to nursing students.
• Develop course syllabi, select instructional materials, and design assessments.
• Assess student performance and provide timely feedback.
• Enter essential information into the TSU EAB system.
• Engage students in active learning and provide academic support.
• Document student remediation interventions and generate reports.

20% Administrative:

• Collaborate on curriculum reviews.
• Participate in the Admission, Progression, and Retention (APR) Committee.
• Foster retention of current BSN students.
• Orient/mentor new faculty.
• Review Course Evaluations, HESI results and make recommendations.

Minimum Requirements

• Earned doctorate/terminal degree in nursing or related field.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
• Current, unencumbered RN license in Texas.
