About the Department
The department has nine graduate programs, including three doctoral programs (Counseling Psychology, Counselor Education and Practice, and School Psychology) and three CACREP master’s programs (Clinical Mental Health Counseling, Clinical Rehabilitation Counseling, and School Counseling), and offers Ed.S. degrees in both School Counseling and School Psychology. The School Psychology Program, Department of Counseling and Psychological Services, and Georgia State University have a strong commitment to contextualizing interventions and psychological practice to the backgrounds of those we serve.

Position Description
The Counseling and Psychological Services ( CPS ) Department seeks highly qualified candidates to fill a full-time, non-tenure track position at the rank of Clinical Assistant Professor in the College of Education and Human Development beginning in August, 2027. The primary responsibility of this position will be to teach core and specialty graduate-level counseling courses, including clinical supervision, in our CACREP -accredited Clinical Mental Health Counseling program. The successful candidate may also teach graduate students from our other CACREP (e.g., clinical rehabilitation, school, counselor education), APA, and NASP accredited programs. Presence on campus for face-to-face teaching, supervision, and mentoring is an essential component of the position. Additional responsibilities include advising graduate students (master’s and doctoral level), and service to the program, department, college, university, and the profession.

- Be licensed (or license-eligible) in the State of Georgia as a professional counselor
