Clinical Assistant Professor of Nursing
Job Description
Austin Peay State University School of Nursing invites applications for a non-tenure-track, three-year renewable, full-time clinical track nursing position. Nursing specialty experience is preferred. The position will have clinical teaching as the focus of their workload with undergraduate nursing students. The School of Nursing is housed in a state-of-the-art technology building that includes smart classrooms and state of the art simulation labs. The program offers a traditional BSN, online RN to BSN and Graduate Nursing programs.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Faculty are responsible for 12-15 hours of teaching per week which includes working closely with clinical facilities to ensure student success. Teaching in this appointment includes a variety of modalities, which may include an online or virtual environment, and other assignments to meet the needs of the college as determined by the Director of Nursing.

This faculty position requires: leadership experience, commitment to innovative and effective teaching, commitment to university mission, ability to work independently and meet deadlines with little or no direction, the ability to establish and maintain effective professional relationships with students, colleagues, and supervisors, the ability to communicate clearly, effectively, and professionally through oral and written communications, ability to collaborate with clinical facilities to ensure student success, computer literacy.
Physical Requirements
Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to life, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Work involves sitting most of the time. Walking and standing are required occasionally.
Required Minimum Qualifications
Faculty teaching in the baccalaureate program must have: a baccalaureate degree in nursing (CCNE), a graduate nursing degree, have significant clinical experience; minimum 3 years of experience, recent teaching experience preferred, Candidate must be eligible for unencumbered RN license in Tennessee. A background search will be required of the successful candidate.
