Job Title: Clinical Assistant Professor of Speech-Language Pathology

Department: Arts and Sciences | Speech Hearing Science

Position Overview

The Department of Speech and Hearing Science in the College of Arts and Sciences at The Ohio State University invites applications for a clinical-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Clinical Professor with expertise in speech-language pathology. This position is responsible for overseeing the operations and clinical education activities of the Flaum Fluency Program within the Department.

Performance Objectives

  • Supervise clinical graduate students in speech-language pathology.
  • Teach courses in speech-language pathology in clinically-applied areas associated with their area of expertise.
  • Grow the Flaum Fluency Program and expand Ohio State’s presence in fluency nationally.
  • Develop and maintain off-campus practicum placements and community partnerships.
  • Participate in departmental service through committee work and curriculum development.
  • Contribute to scholarly activities and support ongoing research initiatives.
  • Engage with alumni and benefactors to foster relationships and identify fundraising opportunities for the Center and Clinic.

Education and Experience Requirements Required:

Applicants must have a master’s or doctoral degree in Speech-Language Pathology or a related field, demonstrated expertise in fluency disorders, eligibility for state licensure in Ohio, and be a holder of the ASHA certificate of clinical competence. Willingness to work collaboratively with faculty and to mentor students representing varied perspectives and academic backgrounds is essential.

Experience Desired:

Clinical experience in pediatric through adult articulation and language disorders is highly desirable. Candidates should demonstrate a commitment to building an intellectual community in line with OSU’s Shared Values.
