Job Description
The primary purpose of this position is to teach Physician Assistant students and provide community, department, and university support in the areas of teaching, scholarship, and service.
Key Responsibilities
- Teaching (60%): Teach PA students clinical medicine. Participate in the assessment of student academic and clinical performance and assist in facilitating remediation efforts. Advise PA students with regard to academic and clinical planning and performance, and direct graduate projects.
- Service (10%): Promote leadership and ongoing professional service at the Department, University, local, and national levels within the medical community. Engage in ongoing faculty development, research, and scholarly activity. Participate in committees, admissions, and program self-assessment, including but not limited to those pertaining to the development, review, and revision of the Program's mission statement, goals, curriculum, and competencies.
- Scholarship (10%): Participate in and develop presentations, research articles, and/or grant proposals. Promote research and scholarly activities.
- Clinical Activity (20%): Assist with clinical site development and recruitment. Be a clinically active medical provider participating in clinical practice. Clinical practice release time available.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- Currently licensed or eligible for appropriate clinical licensure in the state of Idaho (Physician Assistant (PA), Physician (MD, DO), or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) license)
- Minimum of one (1) year of clinical experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's or Graduate/Post-Graduate Degree relevant to profession, such as MPAS, MD, DO, PhD, EdD, DHSc, DMSc; PA or other graduate medical education teaching experience
- Three (3) years or more clinical experience
- Evidence of strong work ethic, integrity, flexibility, and ability to collaborate with others
- Leadership experience in community and medical-related areas
Additional Information

Salary will be between $95,400 - $103,497 per year, commensurate with education and experience.
