Workplace and research group
We are seeking for one person in order to work on human bone and bone marrow tissue engineering project respectively. The projects will be performed within the Cell, Tissue and Organ Engineering group led by Dr. Paul Bourgine. Bone is a complex Organ offering structural and mechanical support of our body, but also consisting in our principal hematopoietic center. The formation of Bone involves distinct stages, including cartilage, vasculature, bone and bone marrow establishment. The Bourgine lab aims at compiling human-specific knowledge on these processes, toward the development of innovative Regenerative Therapies.

We are now seeking a clinical assistant for a full-time, fixed-term position, with a start date of October 1 - 2026, or by agreement.

Description of the workplace
In the role of clinical assistant, you will work on experimental tasks, bioinformatic analysis, and the compilation of results for publication. We are seeking for one person in order to work on human bone and bone marrow tissue engineering project respectively. The work will include specific cell culture and laboratory tasks as well as bioinformatic analysis (scRNA and ATACseq). The objective is to understand the formation of bone and bone marrow processes in the lab, at the cellular and molecular level.
Qualifications
Mandatory requirements
- Master in Bioinformatics or equivalent
- Accepted to Phd program in Medical Science
- Course in flow cytometry
- Course in animal experimentation
- Course in confocal microscopy
- Single cell/Nuclei RNAseq data analysis (Seurat and Scanpy) and ATACseq
- Bulk RNA sequencing data analysis (DeSeq2)
- Programming in R, python, SQL and bash
- 3D tissue engineering
- Good knowledge English (written and spoken)
- Experience in 3D mesenchymal cell culture, engineering of cartilage and bone tissue
- Experience in single cell multiomics data analysis and integration
Desirable qualifications
- Training in skeletal biology
- Experience in study of long-non coding RNA
- Experience in quantitative confocal microscopy
Other
The position is a fixed-term position as a clinical assistant at 100% between the period 1/10 2026 - 30/9 2027.
