Clinical Asst Professor
Job Summary
The Ben and Maytee Fisch College of Pharmacy at The University of Texas at Tyler invites applications for faculty in the Clinical Sciences Department. Appointments are fulltime, open rank, clinical, and non-tenure track. We are seeking qualified candidates for ambulatory care, inpatient adult medicine, or critical care practice. This position offers an exciting opportunity to join a progressive, collaborative, student centered academic Pharm.D. program. Courses are taught using an active learning environment that values professional growth and the development of each student. The curriculum emphasizes critical thinking, communication, and teamwork. The start date for the position is flexible. Salaries are competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience. The review of candidates will begin immediately and continue until the positions are filled.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and teach coursework, incorporating active learning and optimizing educational outcomes.
- Precept students to support learning experiences in the experiential curriculum.
- Serve as an advisor to pharmacy students.
- Participate in college, university, and professional service.
- Engage in research and scholarship.
- Participate in community events, such as community service and community engagement.
- Establish and develop a viable practice site.
- Coordinate coursework as assigned. Engage in continuous professional development.
Required Qualifications
- Pharm.D. or equivalent terminal degree.
- Completion of a PGY-1 pharmacy residency or equivalent experience.
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Current Texas Registered Pharmacist Licensure (or eligibility for Texas licensure).
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in academia.
- Experience practicing in area of training/expertise.
- Completion of a Teaching Certificate Program.
- Completion of a PGY-2 residency in area of specialty.
- Professional board certification.
