Clinical Coordinator - COP
Position Summary
AUIB is seeking a dynamic and experienced Clinical Coordinator to drive its mission of advancing pharmacy education and clinical practice. In this pivotal role, the Clinical Coordinator will develop and oversee clinical rotations, supervise preceptors, teach clinical pharmacy courses with a load of up to 6 credits per semester, organize extracurricular activities, and support students in career development. Key Responsibilities
- Clinical Rotation Management: Develop structured clinical rotation programs for pharmacy students, ensuring robust experiential learning.
- Preceptor Supervision: Coordinate and supervise pharmacy preceptors, ensuring quality guidance during student clinical experiences.
- Teaching Responsibilities: Deliver up to 6 credits of theoretical and clinical courses per semester, integrating science and practical application.
- Research and Scholarship: Engage in clinical research projects and contribute to the college's research outputs.
- Student Advising and Extracurricular Activities: Offer academic advising, career support, and organize extracurricular activities and Continuing Education (CE) programs to advance regional pharmacy practice.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Educational and Clinical Expertise: Holds a PharmD or MS in Pharmacy with relevant clinical experience, demonstrating expertise in pharmacy practice and education.
- Organizational Skills: Highly organized with strong planning abilities, capable of managing teaching loads, clinical programs, and extracurricular activities efficiently.
- Effective Communicator: Possesses excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, facilitating clear guidance and collaboration.
- Collaborative and Inclusive: Skilled in building positive relationships with students, faculty, and preceptors from diverse backgrounds to foster an inclusive environment.
- Research and Service Commitment: Actively engages in research and community service, contributing to the advancement of pharmacy education and student enrichment.
Education and Experience
- Required Education: PharmD or MS in Pharmacy or related field.
- Years of Relevant Experience: Minimum of 2 years in teaching or clinical preceptorship.
- Specific Skills or Expertise: Proficiency in curriculum development, clinical research, student mentorship, and extracurricular programming.
- Additional Certifications: Board of Pharmacy Specialties or other relevant certification preferred.
