Clinical Faculty - Criminology/PEI

The Department of Culture, Society and Justice at the University of Idaho invites applications for a Clinical Assistant Professor of Criminology, a full-time, non-tenure track position starting in August of 2026. While this position will primarily be expected to contribute to online course delivery for the University of Idaho, this position will also be expected to teach one course per semester on the College of Southern Idaho campus in Twin Falls.

All areas of specialization will be considered, but we are particularly seeking areas that complement our current course offerings and department strengths. The successful candidate will be expected to teach core service courses offered in our Master of Sciences degree in criminology and our undergraduate degree program in criminology (e.g., Introduction to Criminology, Justice Institutions, Criminological Theory, Research Methods in Criminology, and/or Justice Policy Issues). Faculty are also encouraged to teach in their specialty areas within criminology and contribute to areas such as internship supervision and mentorship and advising of students at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. This position is also expected to contribute to our growing Prison Education Initiative (PEI) program, which requires teaching one course per year to incarcerated students in Idaho. The standard teaching load is a 3/4 (seven classes per academic year).
