Advertised Job Summary
The pharmacy resident will be responsible for providing evidence-based, collaborative, patient-centered care under the supervision of a preceptor. The pharmacy resident will be a self-directed, independent, motivated learner as guided by the Residency Program Director and preceptors. The pharmacy resident will conduct several projects to improve the quality of patient care, advance the profession of pharmacy, and evaluate the sustainability of pharmacy services. The pharmacy resident will also provide medication-related education and training to healthcare professionals.
This position is located at Medicine Mart in West Columbia, SC. One Pharmacy resident position is available for one year beginning from July 1st, 2024 – June 30th, 2025.
Job Duties
- To promote, manage, schedule, and conduct clinical services in the pharmacy and/or site clinic (45%).
- To develop a research initiative at the community pharmacy practice site (25%).
- Responsible for dispensing prescriptions, counseling patients, and managing pharmacy technicians and interns (20%).
- Teaching opportunities at practice sites and the College of Pharmacy (10%).
