The Connell School of Nursing invites applications for Clinical Lab and Simulation Specialist positions focused on nursing lab support and simulation facilitation. This position supports students in the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and Master's Entry into Nursing Practice (DE) programs by bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and clinical practice.
We are seeking professionals with strong clinical backgrounds to mentor students in a controlled, high-fidelity environment, ensuring they develop the technical skills and critical thinking necessary for modern healthcare
Key Responsibilities
- Instructional Delivery: Support hands-on nursing skills labs and facilitate high-fidelity simulations for undergraduate and graduate students.
- Simulation Facilitation: Operate simulation equipment and facilitate debriefing sessions using evidence-based frameworks to enhance student reflection and learning.
- Student Assessment: Evaluate student competency in clinical skills, provide real-time constructive feedback, and document progress toward learning objectives.
- Lab Set-Up: Work with lead faculty and lab coordinators to ensure equipment is set up to support course learning activities and outcomes.
- Professional Mentorship: Serve as a role model, demonstrating best practices in patient safety, ethical practice, and professional communication.
- Continuous Improvement: Maintain current knowledge of clinical best practices and emerging simulation technologies
- Schedule: Flexible, based on the academic lab schedule and programmatic needs.
- Location: On campus at the Connell School of Nursing lab facilities
Requirements
Qualifications
- Education: A Bachelor's Degree in Nursing is required; a Master's or currently enrolled and working towards a Master's Degree in Nursing is preferred.
- Licensure: Must hold a current, unrestricted RN license in the state of Massachusetts (or be eligible to obtain one).
- Experience: A minimum of two years of clinical experience in acute care is required.
- Instructional Background: Previous experience in clinical instruction, precepting, or simulation facilitation is highly preferred.
- Inclusivity: A demonstrated commitment to supporting an inclusive learning environment for a diverse student body.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification: Certification in Healthcare Simulation Educator (CHSE) or a relevant nursing specialty.
- Technical Proficiency: Comfort with simulation software and medical equipment used in a lab setting. Training will be offered
